Ale has such a tiny car! I love it! But they come smaller... |

Alessandra and her friend Beatrice (not her cousin,
Betti’s daughter) took me into Milan for shopping
and sight seeing. This is near Beatrice’s house.

I thought these Italian policemen were adorable, so
I asked if I could take their picture. They said no, not
here. Then I realized that we were in a coffee shop. We
strolled outside and I took their picture on the street
instead. They look so much more professional! ;) |

This is the entrance to la Galleria, just off the Piazza
del Duomo in Milan. The shopping inside is very ritzy
and expensive. |
|
|
Fuzzy picture of Beatrice, Ale, and me standing on the
Piazza del Duomo. The Duomo is a huge famous church in
Milan. The front of the Duomo was under construction,
so I didn’t take pictures. |

|
Better picture of Bea and Ale. |
|
|
This cracked me up. This placard was just inside the
entrance to the Duomo. For Japanese visitors only! |
|
|
The marble floors of the Duomo were incredible. |
|
|
The pillars in the Duomo reminded me of Book 2 of Harry
Potter, how she describes the chamber of secrets as having
columns that seem to disappear into the blackness above.
That’s what the inside of the Duomo was like. |

The next day I walked around Milan a little before catching
a train to Lugano, Switzerland. Here is a little parking
area for motos. |
|
|
There were hot roasted chestnuts sold on the street.
This made me VERY happy. |
|
|
This is the cutest car ever. It’s either a hybrid
or entirely electric. How could you not love it? |

A tram runs next to a public park. I wish more cities
in the US had trams. |
|
|
These are pictures I took from the train from Milano
to Lugano. You can barely see lake Como in the one on
the right. I love the tile roofs. They are very typical
of Italy. |
