dog lead blog
Where do you lead me, my dear dog/blog, beside the rushing waters of glinting bandwidth? Where do the words beckon? How does the world flow, in and outside of my own self?
I like what blogging does to the mind.. A professor once said to me that a poem is the residue from poetry… Let me translate that from the academeese: the moment of inspired composition, the thrilling moment of writing something new & getting it right, is poetry. The poem what comes from that moment, the poem is just like the track a wildebeest leaves in dirt, but its not the beast itself.
So what is blogging? Why is it so infectious that suddenly we novelize our lives, and observe and think aloud on paper.. Why is it that my brother, my friend chris, my buddy Ulises, and another friend of mine who I admire but publishes VERY anonymously, so I shouldn’t link to her, suddenly find the desire to touch that hotwire of the wildebeest of blog (maybe it’s a different animal for others, maybe a dog or bird or bison…)
I don’t know, but its beautiful today, the sun is glinting off of fall creek, my dog Lilly is so happy to be outside her tail is almost spinning circles with every joyful step. Spring is coming, poking through the thawing ground. My own life just feels right today, both in the logical and illogical realms.
From the logical side of my life, I took a look at my projected finances this next coming year, as I aim on training close to full time to gived my best shot at Olympic trials. I now have an earnings target I must shoot for this year with my web design work, its high, but not unachievable!
Illogically I did my monstrously hard, Boris dictated, Russian Jump program yesterday, and my body really liked it. It was hard, but I can feel strength improvement in the burning throne of the sprint-centric skating posture. Also, at that grandest level of illogicality, I feel loved today, from many directions. My wife, friends, clients, all think I am a worthwhile use of organic material, the sun smiles today, and I do too!
And yes, I thought up most of this while walking Lilly. Dog is my co-pilot for today.

Hey Andrew,
My web spies alerted me of the existence of your blog (thanks for the reference to my more academic and thus more boring blog)! Glad to see you add your voice to the collective. And you went with the whole .org domain name and everything. Fancy!
Anyhoo, I don’t need to ask how life is going, because now I know thanks to your blog
Keep up the hard work and literary exercises.
Hey Andrew…..that’s our dog!(with a tail, of course) Our girls (aussi-queensland-shepard mixes) will be 8 yrs this summer. They were rescued from a reservation near Tucson, where I used to live. I volunteered with a no-kill animal shelter there - Animal crusader’s - rescuing, vacinating, placing in homes, dog training, etc. I met Sassy & Scuffy (the not so dignified names the shelter gave them) when they were 7 or 8 months old, just coming into the kennel on their way from a ranch where 100’s of animals were being collected…many of those were sick and did not make it. We suspect someone docked their tails as pups in hopes they would grow into rotti’s or dobi’s….. They grew up to be your average garden variety heinz 57’s, very loving mutts. At the time of thier rescue A.C.’s took in as many dogs as possible into the program(around 56), paying for kennel space in lieu of having that many foster homes available. I fostered these 2, my initial goal was to work with them then get them into a good home. Hah! That plan failed! Or, succeeded (depending on how you view it) Once they sqeeze their way into your heart, there is no other good home except your own! 7+ yrs later they are still the best pets!! And, spoiled rotten, of course!!
So, why am I writing on your blog??? Coach Boris directed me here to see what you’ve been up to. LOTS, I see. I may have to use some of your dryland plyo-pics & text in an arcticle I am submitting to FaSST magazine regarding HIGH 5. BTW: HIGH 5 is looking great.
okay, back to work!
:~) Kim & Eric (who is downstairs busting weights - his goal is to work on strength development at the moment - either that or it is just an excuse to listen to old Metalica and Ozzy…hmmm)
ps- I would add a pic of the girls if I could figure out how to attatch it here…may just send it over to you via email - they really do look like the littermates!
