Let’s Get it Started!!!

The racing season is ON!!! And with it comes my first video creation of the season.

A number of very fast Japanese skaters have been training at the Utah Olympic oval, and they were racing these weekends; it’s a joy to watch them skate. Oh yeah, the US national team is in here too. They are also pretty darn good.

It’s pretty easy to tell the American skaters from the Japanese. Americans seem to wear solid color skinsuits with nothing on them. The Japanese wear a kaleidoscope of interesting suits & often have things called SPONSORS printed on them. Hmmmm….

There was racing this Saturday out at the Utah Oval, and because of my back I missed it, But I should be on the ice again within a week or two. I’ve been sick as well, & that couldn’t have happened at a better time, as I want to get all the crappy karma out of the way now!

This is going to be a great year.

A little technote here: when add &fmt=6 behing a youtube url, you get a better quality. It then uses a better MP4-like compression, which results in way better quality.

Now the season has truly started! Andrew, there’s nothing like your videos for capturing the spirit of long track skating!

tjark,

thanks for the tip, I am now going to be adding a direct link to your suggestion. It does look vastly better..

Karri,

thanks for the props.. I wish I could be at the fall world cup qualifier in two weeks to do another, but I have more important things going on..

Liz,
there was a problem with my videos, I did not have footage of any of your PB’s to put in there!!! Well, you just need to skate more of them when I have my camera handy!!

You know for 15 more days, you get a Hallowe’en birthday. After my birthday, it’s the coolest day of all-time!

One of my best friends, Gero, was born on October 31st.

Seriously, I’m impatient now though. When my brother and his partner were expecting, we waited and waited and waited… it was torture! But the amazing little gift named Sebastien was worth every single moment of wait.
