Just how I roll
One of the only pictures I took during the recent holiday, this is my brother, during thanksgiving dinner.

At the moment of this picture, I was giving him some good-natured crap about the fact that he has Diet Coke in his wine glass. It just seems so wrong. His effortless response?
“That’s just how I roll”.
I like that. It’s a great motto/excuse/maxim/philosophy.
And it’s always wonderful to roll with family, no matter what they choose as their beverage in whatever glass….. It’s been a house full of Love (the Love family, as it were).
Here are a few images my bro took of Salt Lake.
Liberty Park

and the great Salt Lake-

looking, as usual, like a borrowed piece of another planet

I have got to get back into the blogging groove… Even though I have been skating short track a bit, I’ve been off the long track due to my blade problems. Frankly I am scared to go faster than easy laps due to how twisted my blades are.
There is just something about long track. A bit like baseball, that just seems to create words & thoughts. It’s not that short track is not wonderful too, but there is just no mental room for anything during screaming laps on the tiny frozen hamster wheel.
I like the big wheel. I have replacements blades on order, hopefully will get them soon.

I’m not going to comment on that last post!
haha I think I have had diet coke in many different drink glasses, and if a wine glass could hold hot coffee well, I would probably do that, too. I would not have had my own good answer, though!
When i was a child, my grandmother used to let me drink Coke out of her engraved champagne glasses. I felt like the most sophisticated being in the universe
Mike,
I actually had someone recognize me on the ice, all due to the big, ugly, prescription glasses I wear when I train..
yes, they are cosmically ugly, but they block 100% of the wind & flying ice chips from my eyes… and I’d rather be able to see than be fashionable..
Kate,
you are one of the more sophisticated beings in the universe!!!! at least according to the metrics that I judge humanity by……
; )
Hey, I hope you can figure out your blades, equipment problems are the worse. I’m straight edge so I don’t drink alcohol either, lol you guys remind me of my sister and I.
And yes, wearing contacts on ice sucks! Dry eyes seriously lol.
I don’t know about cosmically ugly and fashionable is in the eye of the beholder (unless you wear SKORTS), but I do know that I can’t skate fast enough anymore to worry about wind and ice chips to even need eye protection.

I rock skorts. Watch me.
