Groundhog Day??
Some fat rodent in Pennsylvania who sleeps too much just announced that we will have 6 more weeks of winter.
There are roughly 43 groundhogs, woodchucks & one Llama out there who also offer their opinions.
Screw them, I have a far more reliable measure of the nearness of spring from an animal who plays outdoors every day.
Lilly has just started blowing out her winter coat, Jess doubled this pile by the time she was done brushing the dog.

Note the fur flying through the air in the photo & the cat messing around in it. So it’s official; Lilly predicts an early spring this year!
Cyclists & Inliners rejoice!

HA!
Scruffy can shed more fur than that on any day, any season!!
BTW, for those that do not know, my two dogs (sassy and scruffy) are facsimile of Lilly… just without tails.
Haha! What a cute picture! Hi Lilly!
OK, so on a day when it is still winter and is still supposed to be winter for a while according to both the calendar and the daylight hours, somebody wakes up a groundhog who is suppsed to be hibernating. There’d be something wrong with the animal if he didn’t crawl back in! (Yes, I know there’s history and folklore behind it…but it’s still a sleepy groundhog.)
Get that groundhog a Starbucks!
Thanks for your prediction Lilly! Here is to dry wide oval sidewalks to skate in March.
