Labor Pizza

There is an urban legend in Salt Lake City, about a Pizza that unfailingly brings pregnant women into labor.

As Jess is now quite overdue, she has tried many other home remedies like acupressure, a pedicure, extra long walks, and jumping around as the NY Giants beat the Steelers, so a Pizza sounded like a good idea.

The myth said the Pizza was located at Café Trio, so we went there & asked the staff for the “labor inducing Pizza” and they smiled, & said, “Ah, yes, we know exactly the one people talk about.”

The Menu said it was a chicken pizza with garlic, onions, mushrooms, & fontina cheese.

What the menu did not indicate is that there are at least 2 full heads of roasted garlic & fistfuls of mushrooms under that glistening cheese. Wow.

Omigosh it was good! But unfortunately, no labor; Or maybe I ate too many of the yummy garlic buds myself, & Jess did not get a “critcal mass” of garlic & ‘shrooms.

Mmmmmmmm–

  2. I had good luck with two of my friends with sauerkraut, german potatoe salad and hot dogs..or maybe it was the table conversation.
I think le bebe is going to wait until after election day to see where the country is heading.

  3. I like the idea of the baby waiting to see the election outcome! :- )

Not for Jess, of course, because that’s a long time off still. I already like the way this kid thinks, though! I imagine it sort-of like, “If this goes badly, I’m stayin’ in here where it’s warm.” :- )

    Maybe tonight’s the night.
    More pizza.

    Much love,
    B

  4. Lots of women are 2 weeks late. I was. Baby will come when baby is ready. The wait will make the event that much more joyful.

    XXOO

  5. It’s better than being weeks or even months early, that’s when you get the micro kid.

  6. Andrew, sheesh…. don’t you know that your baby is just waiting for the starter’s commands???

Baby to the line……… Ready…….. GO!

Grin…. hope you go soon Jess!

  7. my only question is can you stand to sleep with the person after eating that pizza? lol

  8. hi andrew…i’m one of the gotapolo ladies that you met for hot chocolate. please tell jess i’ve been thinking about her. hang in there…baby love will come when it’s time! LOL…and don’t confuse the heartburn from the pizza with labor pains.

  9. OMG… all my love to Jess, and hang in there, honey! It won’t be long now - most docs just will not let you go beyond 3 weeks overdue, and considering what that last week was like for me I think that’s wise. At least you’ll have a well-developed kid. If yours is Lexa-late, maybe s/he’ll be Lexa-sweet too :)

I bet it’s odd & hope it’s good to know that people all around the world are waiting this out with you and sending love and good wishes.

  10. Andrew,

My daughter was approximately two weeks overdue. My wife’s physician scheduled her to induce labor on October 17, 1983 at 7 am. At 2:30 am on October 17th, we wife went into labor. My daughter was born at 6:36 am. Since then, my daughter has been an nth degree procastinator. This drives me crazy.

    Good luck!
